Are Rains products waterproof?
Most of Rains products are waterproof, but not all. The waterproof levels for materials vary for products and are are specified in product descriptions. Generally all rain jackets, winter coats, bags and most accessories are waterproof with a water performance level of at least W3. The zippers for bags and jackets are waterproof, but the water may get in from small openings when exposed to heavy and long period of rain.
Rains apparel like fleece jackets, woven items and some series e.g. Kano, Naha are not waterproof.

NB! Please note, when we mention waterproof, we are referring to the materials used in Rains products. These items are not designed for submersion underwater.

How to take care of your Rains items?
Rains products are designed to be easy to care for. It is recommended to wipe them clean with a damp cloth and avoid using harsh chemicals or washing machines. We recommend the Rains Fabric Cleaner to remove soils and stains, a water-based, biodegradable, and pH neutral cleaner developed for Rains signature waterproof fabrics. The specific care instructions can be found from the label attached to the product lining.

Can I machine wash Rains rain jackets?
Rains jackets can be machine washed at 30°C with similar colours. We recommend to do this as rarely as possible, since machine washing shortens the lifespan of a product. Do not bleach, tumble dry, dry clean, or iron your Rains items.  In addition, do not use fabric softener or any waterproofing additives.

What materials are used in Rains products?
Rains mainly uses a signature 100% vegan waterproof PU material for their products.
Their bags, backpacks, and accessories are crafted from thick, extremely durable, and easy-to-clean waterproof materials and are made to last. Raincoats ja rain pants are made from a lightweight and waterproof PU-coated material.
Rains winter jackets feature featherless, 100% vegan and recycled insulation, offering warmth and better performance compared to traditional down filling.
